Janie Peterson

Mrs. Janie Carol Christian Peterson, age 84, of 400 East 8th Street, Rome, GA, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at her residence.Mrs. Peterson was born in California on August 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Martin Addison and Annie Gaylor Christian. She was a member of North Rome United Methodist Church and in her earlier years she had attended Shorter College. She worked at the Bumble Bee Restaurant which was a family business and spent the rest of her time as a homemaker. Mrs. Peterson was a very independent, kind, and gentle lady. She loved watching golf. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peterson is preceded in death by her husband, G.L. Peterson; two brothers, Sam Christian and Bill Christian; and one sister-in-law, Millie Mahan.Mrs. Peterson is survived by her nephew and his wife, Dr. Martin and Kathy Christian of Dublin, GA; two nieces, Barbara Thomas and her husband, Stephen of Balsam, North Carolina; and Carol Fagerburg of Woodstock, GA; and two sisters-in-law, Jean Christian of Rome, GA and Frances Scoggins of Armuchee, GA; two great nephews, Chris Christian of Dublin, GA and Nicholas Fagerburg of Woodstock, GA and four great nieces, Dana Christian of Dublin, GA, Celeste Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, Ashley and Lauren Fagerburg both of Woodstock, GA.Funeral services will be held today (Thursday), November 17, 20005 at 11:00 A.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Norv Havens officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.Mrs. Peterson's family received friends last night in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home.The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Thursday by 10:30 A.M.: Bill Broome, Chip Johnson, John Morse, Chris Christian, Bill Fricks and Jim Burdette.In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, P.O.
