Janis Ledford

Janis Cherie Ledford, 72, of Cartersville Georgia, peacefully passed away on May 16, 2023.

Janis was born in Oakland, California to the late Brice Bluford McDaniel and the late Barbara Jean Achuff.
She is also preceded in death by her son, Shannon Kenneth Mercer and stepfather, Wayne Achuff.

Janis is survived by her husband, Kirk Ledford; daughter, Kelly Keith; sister, Lynette Thompson (Marty); grandchildren, Alexandria Stodghill, Brice Keith, Kadin Keith, and Emmalyn Keith; best friend of 50 years, Sue Thuresson; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Gator.

Janis loved spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and pets. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She also loved to learn new things and was oftentimes seen cooking or baking. Janis was known as a 'foodie' and enjoyed watching cooking programs. She was a hardworking woman who worked with the United States Postal Service in Acworth for 30 years.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Willard officiating.
