Our beloved Jason E. Currey 78, left this earth on September 9, 2025.
Jason earned his Undergraduate and Graduate degrees. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and retired from Southern Tea (previously Tetley Tea) after 28 years of service at the Savannah and Marietta, Georgia facilities. He received many professional awards and always preferred his teams to receive the credit.
Jason is survived by his wife, three children, a sister and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jason was hands-on with his family providing a stable life for all. He left lifelong memories, lessons, and a deep sense of decency for all to adhere to.
Jason was known to be intelligent, honest, direct and willing to help anyone willing to help themselves without needing anything in return. He enjoyed many hobbies and collections, especially anything with an engine and rose to the challenge to fix everything himself.
With the assistance of many medical professionals, especially Respiratory Consultants of Georgia {Dr Rhodes} Jason was able to remain independent and in charge of his own destiny to the end with a great attitude. The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to all involved.
Jason will be interned at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. There will be a family memorial planned at a later time.
