Jason Steven Smith, 33, of Emerson died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Emory Healthcare System in Atlanta. Born December 13, 1979 in Marietta, he was the son of Billy Charles Smith and Linda Smith Satterwhite.
Jason was employed by Ameristeel before becoming disabled in 2011. He was of the Baptist faith, loved his family, friends and all people. He loved sports, loved helping people and seeing people smile. He was always saying "Smile". Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents, George and Sarah Bolton and his paternal grandparents, Taylor and Evelyn Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Brandy Smith of Emerson; his mother, Linda Smith Satterwhite; his father, Billy Charles Smith; his children, Jalynn and Ethan Hendricks; his brothers, Charles, Michael and Eric Smith; his nephews, Ezra, Anthony and Logan; a great-nephew, Brayden; his nieces, Porshia, Lexie and Alyia; his uncle, Joe Smith; his aunt, Joyce Johnson and husband, Winfred; his sister-in-law, Heather Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Reverend Scotty Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Smith, Eric Smith, Chaney Bryant, Evan Ingram, Corey Brown, Lee Blassengame and Ethan Hendricks.
