Jean Alderman

Jean Susette Alderman, 61, of Acworth (formerly of Cartersville) passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the Cartersville Medical Center after an extended battle with illness. Born October 1, 1947 in Webb City, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Paul D. Hand and the late Mima Jean Dipley Hand. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, William Cornett, and her sister, Paula Hand.



Jean had been a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her grandson. Jean also enjoyed traveling and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. However, since their move away from Cartersville, she and Bob had been attending Hillcrest Baptist Church in Acworth.



Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Bob Alderman of Acworth; her children, Marsha Prater, Doug Alderman, and Eric and Holly Alderman; her grandchildren, Hannah Alderman, Max Alderman, and Alex Prater; and her cousins, Mel and Joanne Dipley and Valerie and Kevin Kennedy, all of California.



Memorial services will be conducted at a later date at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Acworth.
