Jean Schwartz

Mrs. Jean Evelyn Schwartz, age 79, of the Garden Lakes Community, died February 7, 2008, after a long illness.

She was a member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church in Rome, GA, where she has lived for fifty-three years. Previously she lived and was born in Gadsden, AL where she attended the First Christian Church. Mrs. Schwartz was very active in her community before her illness. She was a member of the Garden Lakes Homemaker's Club and the Sewing Club. She was also very involved in Church activities for many years. Mrs. Schwartz is preceded in death by her parents, Herman Duke and Genevieve Allen Duke; a son, Richard J. Schwartz in 1974; a sister, Shirley Henry; and a brother, Allen Duke.

Mrs. Schwartz is survived by her husband of sixty years, Louie J. Schwartz; a daughter, Rebecca S. Rudd; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Evelyn Schwartz will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. in the Garden Lakes Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Skelton officiating. Mrs. Schwartz will be carried to the church on Sunday to lie-in-state from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Saturday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
