Mrs. Jennie Pilgrim Hudgins, age 96, of 1530 Ward Mountain Road, Rome, GA, died Thursday, November 10, 2005.Mrs. Hudgins was born in Polk County, GA on April 17, 1909 to the late John Henry Pilgrim and Jennie Irene Miller Pilgrim. Prior to retirement she was associated with Flint River Cotton Mill for four years and Anchor Rome for 29 years. Mrs. Hudgins also was a seamstress for many years, not only sewing for her family but others as well. She was a member at Fellowship Baptist Church for approximately 20 years and participated in the TEL Sunday school class. Mrs. Hudgins is remembered dearly as a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, H. Grady Hudgins, to whom she married in 1927, all eleven of her siblings, a son-in-law, David Earl Jones, Sr., and a grandson, David Earl Jones, Jr.Mrs. Hudgins is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Archie J. and Christine Hudgins of Rome; three daughters and sons-in-law, Charline and James Everett of Atlanta, GA, Annie Jones of Rome, Linda and Joe Harris of Ringold, GA; seven grandchildren, Shirley Early of Rome, Ronald and Kathy Everett of Atlanta, Steven and Yayoi Everett of Atlanta, Michael and Debbie Jones of Flowery Branch, GA, Doug Jones of Summerville, GA, Donald and Teri Harris of Ringgold, Donna and Daniel McBrayer of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; five great-grandchildren, Vince Early of Rome, Matthew Everett of Atlanta, Michael David Jones and Daniel Jones both of Flowery Branch, Brett Jones of Rome, Benjamin Harris and Teri Elizabeth Harris both of Ringgold, and Kirstie Jo McBrayer of Fort Oglethorpe. Several niece and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mrs. Hudgins will be held this (Saturday) morning at 11 a.m. in the Heritage chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Stockton and Rev. Bob Meldrin officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Garden Cemetery.The family received friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home. At other hours the family will receive friends in the home of Annie Jones.Grandsons and a great-grandson will serve as pallbearers and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and include; Douglas B. Jones, Michael S. Jones, Donald E. Harris, Ronald G. Everett, G. Steven Everett, and Vince Early.
