Jennie Mathis

Jennie Mathis, 74, of Cartersville died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at her residence. Born August 14, 1936 in Bartow County, she was the daughter of Ruby Lee Hunt Willis and the late Fred James Shepherd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby C. Mathis; her sister, Josephine Hendrix; and her brother, Edward Shepherd.



Jennie was of the Baptist faith and was employed by Union Carbide before retirement.



Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Sherry and Tommy Croy and Stacey Brock; two granddaughters, Amy Pruiett Bauder and Jerome and Felisha Pruiett Collum; her great-grandchildren, Caleb Bauder, Kendall Collum, Tristan Collum, Eli Collum, and Peyton Collum; her mother, Ruby Willis; and her best friend, Annie Ruth Waits.



Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Max Maybern officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.



Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Hendrix, Larry Heath, Caleb Bauder, Jerome Collum, Bradley Collum, Scott Hendrix, and Kendall Collum. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home by 12:15 p.m. on Friday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
