Jerold Greeby

Jerold �Jerry� Townsend Greeby, 45, of Kingston died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Erlanger Medical Center due to an accident while riding horses. Born in Abington, Pennsylvania on November 8, 1963, he was the son of Hazel Townsend Greeby and the late James Moore Greeby, Jr.



Most recently, Jerry had been employed as an environmental consultant with David Karchner & Associates, an environmental and facilities engineering group, where he oversaw all environmental and facilities engineering projects. He was a member of the Environmental Information Association, the Institute of Real Estate Management, the Council for Quality Growth, the Georgia Economic Development Council, the Indoor Air Quality Association, and the Society of American Military Engineers. Jerry was an EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector, and EPA AHERA Asbestos Management Planner, and EPA AHERA Asbestos Project Designer, and EPA AHERA Asbestos Project Supervisor, and an NIOSH 582 Analyst � Phase Contrast Microscopy. He was certified in RMD LPA-1 Lead-Based Paint Inspection System and the PSI � Project Manager Certification Program.



Jerry was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and was a part of the mission team to Balama, Africa in July of 2008. He was also a 2008 graduate of Leadership Bartow. Jerry was a graduate of Largo High School and enjoyed collecting and restoring vintage cars.



Survivors include his wife Lisa Callaway Greeby; his children, Kristen J. Greeby of Cartersville and Josh L. Greeby of Wethersfield, Connecticut; his step-daughter, Sarah E. Atkison of Kingston; his granddaughter, Madison J. Cook of Cartersville; his mother, Hazel D. Greeby of Largo, Florida; his sisters, Joann Greeby of Largo, Florida and Joyce Carley of DeBary, Florida; and his brother, Jim Greeby of Yardley, Pennsylvania.



Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2009 at Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Ballance officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 � 1 p.m. at the church on Friday prior to the service. The family will also receive friends after the service at their residence.



In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions for the Balama, Africa Project, ℅ Heritage Baptist Church, 1070 Douthit Ferry Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
