Mr. Jerry Maxie Argo, age 70, of 121 Malone Drive, Rome, GA, died Monday, July 3, 2006, in his residence. Mr. Argo was born in Floyd County, GA on June 1, 1936, the son of the late Ottie Argo and Polly Siniard Argo McCullough. He retired from the Roman Country Club as a manager for eighteen years and was a well known avid golfer holding many awards and records for Tournaments throughout the Southeast. Mr. Argo was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and was very well-liked individual. In addition to his parents, Mr. Argo is preceded in death by a son, Blake Argo.Mr. Argo is survived by his wife, Carol Ramey Argo of Rome, GA, to whom he was married to January 7, 1977; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Britt Argo of Roswell, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Ricky Brown of Coosa, GA and Angela Dawn and Vardis Benson of Braselton, GA; four grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Bobby McBurnett of Rome, GA. A niece and nephew also survive.A Memorial service will be held Thursday, July 6, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with J. Parnick Jennings, Sr. and Henry Alexander officiating and Wayne Wilkey giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
