Jerry Cox

Jerry Jay Cox, 61, of Ranger died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his residence. Born in Beaumont, Texas on October 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Ernest Bartow Cox and the late Nora Magalee Stokes White. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Cox and Roger Cox; and his nephew, Jeff Cox.



Jerry had been employed as a smolter operator with Atlantic Steel. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and served during Viet Nam.



Survivors include his sons, Steve Cox of Athens and Christopher John (C.J.) Cox of Cartersville; his sister, Melba Wilkins of Cartersville; a special niece, Stacy Cox of White; several half-brothers and half-sisters; and several nieces and nephews.



A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Michael Abernathy officiating.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 6 p.m. Saturday prior to the memorial service.
