Jerry Lee Dempsey passed away February 15, 2021. He was born in 1948 to George and Ruby Dempsey of Kingston, Georgia. Jerry was a United States Army veteran and a graduate of Reinhardt College. For many years, he worked in Cartersville's banking community. He always appreciated the chance to share a hearty laugh over a good joke.
He is survived by his son, Jay Dempsey; his son's mother, Liz Dempsey; his uncle, Jack Dempsey; niece, Amara Dempsey; nephew, Kevin Dempsey; and several cousins. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ronald Dempsey.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Bartow County. http://bgcofbc.org or 770-382-2552.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Paul Battles officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. that afternoon.
