Jerry Lamar Ledford Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the age of 74.
Jerry was born on May 6, 1951, in Cartersville, Georgia, where he spent his life dedicated to his family and community. A welder by profession, Jerry was known for his strong work ethic and skill. Outside of work, he was an ardent fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and passionately supported sports teams, including the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, and Hawks. Jerry also cherished time spent in the great outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, his collection of camouflage exemplifying this passion.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Mary Ledford, and his children, Marcia Ledford and Jerry Lamar Ledford Jr. He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Rita Faye Ledford, as well as many nieces and nephews who fondly remember his warmth and humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Flonnie Ledford, along with five brothers and three sisters.
Jerry took immense pride in being a dedicated family man, and nothing gave him greater pleasure than spending time with his beloved wife, Mary. His kindness, warmth, and loyalty left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
