Jerry Lingerfelt

Mr. Jerry Lingerfelt 63, of Emerson, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome. A native of Bartow County, born July 7, 1950, he was the son of the late Terry Henry Lingerfelt and the late Mary Kate Tatum Lingerfelt.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Perry and Ricky Lingerfelt. Jerry was a very smart man and mechanically gifted. He was employed by New Riverside Ochre as a welder. He was a hard worker, full of life, fun loving and a very giving and unselfish man. Jerry loved to play horse shoes, fish and hunt. He was a loving father, brother and grandfather.
Survivors include his daughter, Shawna Lewis (Cedric) of Euharlee; two sons, Dean and Jody Lingerfelt both of Euharlee; two step-sons, Jackie Chester of Ball Ground and Jason Chester (Tracy) of Jasper; five sisters, Loretta Branton of Cartersville, Erier Jo Mullinax of Cartersville, Geraldine Turner of Acworth, Brenda Bailey of Cartersville and Darlene Robertson of Emerson; his brother, Robert Lingerfelt of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Dustin Lingerfelt of Cartersville, Hallie Lingerfelt of Lithia Springs, Gabrielle Lewis of Euharlee, Aurora Quigley, Chasity Chester, Jonathon Chester, Destiny Chester, Joseph Chester and Zac Chester; along with his significant other, Elaine Lingerfelt of Ball Ground.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Doyle Cabe officiating. Interment will follow in the Emerson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Cabe, Ronnie Posey, Charles Blalock, Gary Ashworth, Wayne Henderson, Neal Lowe and Brad Hughes. His co-workers at New Riverside will serve as honorary pallbearers.
