Mr. Jerry Don �Red� Patterson, 31, of Cartersville passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008 as the result of an accident. Born October 23, 1977, he was a native of Cartersville and was the son of Darlene Abernathy and Jimmy Patterson. Jerry Don enjoyed playing the guitar, drawing and fishing. He was baptized at the former Gilmer Street Baptist Church. Jerry Don was also a carpenter with Tommy Gill Construction. He was a loving father, son, and brother.
Survivors include his son, Austin Patterson; his mother and step-father, Darlene and Donnie Abernathy of Rydal; his father and step-mother, Jimmy and Tara Patterson of Cartersville; his brother, Jimmy Dale Patterson of Mt. Vernon; his maternal grandmother, Lola Tallent of Chatsworth; and his former wife, Amanda Patterson of Rome.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Ronnie Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Kenny Vann, Little Tommy Gill, Lee Elrod, Eric Casey, Gary Patterson and Dale Elrod. Tommy Gill and Donnie Abernathy will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
