Jerry Whorton

November 3, 1941 — May 13, 2024

Mr. Jerry Wayne Whorton, 82 of Cartersville, Georgia, was welcomed home on May 13, 2024. Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife Connie, parents A.B. Whorton and Sarah Dell Holmes and brother Jim Whorton

Jerry is survived by daughter Paula Doner and her husband Dwayne of Louisville, Ky., son Eddie Whorton and his wife Jennifer of Cartersville, Ga., brother Mike Fuqua and his wife Sue of Muscadine, AL., grandchildren Brandon, Brandy and Jared, great grandchildren Journey, Jorja and Jagger, his sweet Miniature Schnauzer, Ruby, and many friends.

He was born in Anniston, Al., but settled in Marietta, Ga. where he worked in retail before beginning a career in real estate and residential home construction. Later in life Jerry and his wife Connie relocated to Centre, AL. where they opened and operated Cherokee Rent All, a tool rental business serving Cherokee Co. In retirement, Jerry and Connie relocated to Cartersville, Ga. to be closer to family.

Jerry was a friend to many, a wonderful husband and father and an avid fisherman back in the day. The family takes comfort in his faith and his reunion with his beloved wife whom he missed dearly.

The family will receive friends for a celebration of life visitation on Friday, May 31st from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
