Jesse Adams

January 15, 1914 — July 12, 2007

Mr. Jesse Adams, 93, of 196 N. Dixie Ave., Cartersville, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Starcrest of Cartersville. A native of Bartow County, he was born January 15, 1914 and was the son of the late William Adams and Mary Land Adams. Jesse was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ella Dabbs Adams; his second wife, Clara Adams; his sons, Bobby, Anthony and Kenneth Adams; and his daughter, Peggy Ann Adams.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Donna Adams, Jerry and Cathy Adams, Billy Joe and Harvey Adams, and Tommy and Sarah Brown; two daughters and son-in-law, Sue and George Bean and Vickie Dupree; his daughter-in-law, Joyce Adams, his sister-in-law, Joyce Adams; twenty-two grandchildren; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Keith Willard officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be: Dwayne Adams, Dale Adams, Rodney Adams, Stacey Adams, Billy Adams, Jesse Adams, Jeremy Dupree, Jamie Green, and Al Green. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: M.W. Adams, Rev. Sammie Adams, Wayne Adams, Jimmy Adams, Larry Russell, Jake Cochran, Billy Lambert and Sam Griffin. Pallbearers are requested to be at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Sunday.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
