Mr. Jesse Lee Boyd, 28, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Atlanta on December 15, 1985, he was the son of Michael Boyd and Lori Smith Gorman. His is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jean Smith. Jesse attended Canton Road Church of God and was self-employed. He was a fun loving, free spirited young man with artistic abilities. He enjoyed riding four wheelers and gators and helping his dad on the farm. Jesse never met a stranger and had many friends.
Survivors include his father, Michael Boyd and his wife Libbie of Kingston; his mother, Lori Gorman and her husband Shawn of Emerson; his paternal grandparents, Mary and Billy Boyd of Kingston; his maternal grandfather, Terry Smith of Gastonia, NC; his sisters, Brandy Boyd of Cartersville, and Ilayia Herod of Kingston; uncles, Dale Boyd of Cartersville and Jeff Smith of Gastonia, NC; aunts, Rita Boyd of Cartersville, Cindy Kirby, Shelly Jones, and Tina Putman, all of Gastonia; his cousin, Nicholas Boyd of Cartersville; his nephew, Talon Ferguson of Rockmart; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 21, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Franklin Morris officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday for one hour prior to the service.
