Jesse Rogers

July 18, 1927 — January 11, 2008

Mr. Jesse Chandler. Rogers, age 80, of Kennemore Road, SW Rome, GA died Friday, January 11, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Rogers was born on July 18 1927 in Floyd County Georgia, the son of the late William Rogers and DeAlva Caldwell Rogers. He was a veteran of the WWII serving in the Army-Air force. Mr. Rogers was retired from Sears Company where he worked as a mechanic for 20 years. He was a member of the Wilkerson Road Baptist Church for 46 years where he serviced as a deacon and as a member of the Men's Sunday school class. Mr. Rogers loved taking trips with his family to the Smokey Mt. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents and two sister Edea Rogers and Marlene Rogers.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years Mrs. Eloise Normon Rogers to whom he was married to on February 6, 1948; two daughters and sons-in-laws Kathy and Steve Gann of Rome, Judy and James Jones of Rome; one sister Geneva Parris of Lindale; five grandchildren Jennifer Loveless of Armuchee, Jessica Mohler and her husband John Mohler of Cedar Bluff Al., Scott Richey and his wife Candice of Rome, Stefanie Gann of Marietta, GA. and Matt Gann of Rome; five great-grand children Ryan loveless, Rick Loveless of Armuchee, Brendan Mohler and Bailey Mohler of Cedar Bluff, Al. and Alexa Richey of Rome.

Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be held Monday, January 14, 2007, at 11:00 am from the Wilkerson Road Baptist Church with Rev. Milford Williams and Rev. David Fincher officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers and include; Phil Norton, Alan Beard, Larry Broome, Tommy McGill, John Peoples, Gary Gamany and James Heard. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Wilkerson road Baptist Church and they are as followed, Thurman Heath, Jerry Gossett, W.C. Roberson, Hank Carr, Clark Sloman and Charles Beard.
