Jesse Melton, Sr.

Jesse C. Melton, 65, died Monday, August 17, 2009 at his residence. Born October 13, 1943 he was the son of the late Homer Melton, Jr. and the late Beatrice Stephenson Melton Darnell. He was also preceded in death by his son Jesse Clay Melton, Jr.; and his sister Nancy Coe.



Jesse had been employed as an iron worker until his retirement, and was a member of Local 387, he enjoyed fishing, car auctions, building, working with his hands and was in the process of writing a book, Jesse also attended Creekside Fellowship Church.



Survivors include his children Dale Melton and his wife Danielle, his daughter Tara-An Melton; his sisters and brother-in-laws, Faye and Joe Selvage, Juanita and Casey Lawler, Linda and Jimmy Nippers, Patsy Motes, and Joy and Mike Broadrick; his brothers and sister-in-law, Billy Dan and Kim Darnell, and Richard Darnell; his grandchildren, Nicholas Melton, Amy Melton, and Jacqueline Melton; special friends, Susan Alexander, Janice, Terry Foster, Wayne Hubbard, and Fred Tripodo; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very much.



Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Michael Abernathy officiating.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville GA 30120.
