Mr. Jim Griffin, 68, of Cartersville, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Born in Fulton County, February 17, 1944, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas Griffin, Sr. and the late Sara Myrene Fuller Griffin. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Griffin, Jr.
Jim was a former member of the C.C. Riders, the treasurer of the Cobb County Vintage Car Club and was an avid old car nut. He was employed by Three Way Campers for more than twenty years as the parts manager. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War and received recognition earning the National Defense Service Medal, The Viet Nam Service Medal and The Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal.
Survivors include his sisters, Dot Roberts of McDonough and Cherrie Adams of Milner; his brother, Mike Griffin of Morrow and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Monday June 4, 2012 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Jim Griffin.
