Mr. Jimmy Lee Baker, age 55, of Cartersville, died suddenly on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Floyd Medical Center. Born in Texas on October 14, 1960, he was the son of Tommy Baker and Bessie Cox Baker.
Mr. Baker first and foremost loved his Lord. He loved to make everyone laugh and be happy. Jimmy was employed by the Bartow County School System as a custodian at Hamilton Crossing Elementary. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping, racing and watching NASCAR. Preceding him in death is his brother, Lester Baker.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 34 years, Jennie Baker of Cartersville; his parents, Tommy and Bessie Baker; his daughters, Rachael and A.J. Largin of
Villa Rica, Jessica and David Betanzos of Adairsville, Chris and Jamie Baker of Hartly, Delaware; his grandchildren, Olivia Betanzos, Ryan Largin, Michael Betanzos, Cameron Largin, Nathan Largin and Travis Betanzos; his sisters, Shelba Breckenridge of Cartersville and Betty Jo Morrison of Mitchell, Georgia; his brother, Tony Baker of Cartersville; along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Charles Cox officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
