Jimmy Lee Blackmon, 48, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 in Floyd County. Born August 30, 1960 in Cartersville, he was the son of Jimmy and Lois Mulkey Blackmon. He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Blackmon.
Mr. Blackmon was of the holiness faith and attended Landmark Holiness Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar and especially loved #88, Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Survivors include his parents; his wife, Edna Blackmon; his daughter, Brandi Nicole Blackmon, of Cartersville; his sisters, Doris Lee and Lillie Knight, of Cartersville, and Kathy Hardman, of Kingston; his brothers, Ronnie Lee Blackmon, and Larry Jerry Blackmon, of Cartersville; and his extended family, Ricky Hale, of Cedartown, Darrell Hale, Tammy Hale, and Jennifer Bryant, all of Cartersville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 16, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, with the Rev. I.L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Cassville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Mulkey, Wayne Lee, Lamar Blackmon, Johnny Rogers, Ronald Roberts, and Jason Davis. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 10:15 on Wednesday.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
