Jimmy L. Duvall, 74, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, February 06, 2011 at his residence. Born January 25, 1937 in Cartersville he was the son of the late Jim Quick Duvall and the late Lois Florence Tidwell Duvall. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Alma Hubbard, Hazel Shirley, and Margaret Duvall; and his grandson, Jeremiah Rush.
Jimmy had been employed as a truck driver for Shaw Industries and was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church. He loved to bowl, hunt, fish, pan for gold, and work in his garden.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Betty Holmes Duvall; his daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Chuck Nichols of Cartersville, Tony Duvall of Cartersville, Tinna and Don Rush of Carrollton, Illinois, and Vickie Duvall of Cartersville; his grandchildren and their spouses, Deonna and Jason George of Adairsville, Chad and Elisha Groover of Adairsville, Danielle and Shawn Kemp of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Chase and Stephanie Groover of Adairsville, Nick Nichols Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, Tyler Mazzotta of Cartersville, Jordan Shook of Cave Springs, Kaelee Rush Carrollton, Illinois, Rylee and Ryanne Duvall of Cartersville; his great-grandchildren, Emma Mader of Adairsville, Evie Nichols Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and Jackson Kemp of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; his brother and sister-in-law, Ellis and Joyce Duvall of Cartersville; his aunt, Catherine Duvall of Kingston; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Brenda Goode, and James and Judy Shook.
The family would like to give special thanks to Kathy Kiser, Randy Hubbard, and Dr. Waldman for their special care during Jimmy�s time of sickness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Donny Summey officiating. Burial will follow in Cassville Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Duvall, Chris Holmes, Stan Rogers, Randy Pierce, Shane Melton, Matthew Melton, and Brad Holmes. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Junior Johnson, and Ricky Johnson. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 9 p.m. Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
