Mr. Jimmy P. "Jim" Jones, age 60, of 4 Meadow Lane, Rome, GA, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Floyd Medical Center.Mr. Jones was born on February 2, 1944 in Geraldine County, Alabama. He is the son of Sybil Jones of Rome and the late Ralph L. Jones. Mr. Jones was a very loving father and son and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an artist and he enjoyed rebuilding tractors.He is survived by his mother, Sybil L. Jones of Rome, two daughters, Jamie Jones Brynteson of Rome and Michelle Lewis of Nashville Tennessee, two step-daughters Julie Ackerman of Woodstock, Georgia and Jill Parker of Calhoun, Georgia; one brother, Jack Jones of Cartersville, Georgia. Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held at 2:00p.m., Sunday June 6, 2004, at the gazebo in the Garden of the Apostles in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Rev .Bill Adams officiating. Entombment will follow in the Matthew Mausoleum. Those desiring to attend the services should meet at the gazebo by 1:45 pm. , Sunday.The family will receive friends at the Oaknoll Chapel, this evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence, 111 Brown Fox Drive, Rome, GA.
