Jimmy D. King, 58, of Cartersville passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at his residence. Born March 2, 1952 in Cartersville, he was the son of the late Bill King and the late Martha Ledford King.
Jimmy was employed as a welder and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local #72. He enjoyed working in his yard, but his favorite thing was cutting the grass. Jimmy loved his family and loved to play with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Kathy King of Cartersville; his daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Jeff Tindall of Cartersville; his brothers and sister-in-law, David King of Cartersville and Fred and Kathy King of Cartersville; and his granddaughter, Elyse Tindall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Ron Gober officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Hatfield, Shepard Hatfield, Hunter Cochran, Greg Adcock, Rick Poe, and Randy Harris. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Chapter of Georgia, 1117 Perimeter Center West, Suite E101, Atlanta, GA 50338.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
