Joan Bowman

Mrs. Joan Doreen Bowman, 88, of Adairsville, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born in Bristol, England, on October 6, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Walter Stone and the late Maria Jobbins Stone. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Douglas Fredrick Bowman; and her sister, Viney Peglar.



Mrs. Bowman worked in sales before retirement. She enjoyed jewelry making and oil painting. She taught at the senior center in Bartow County.



Survivors include her son, Rob Bowman; her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Gary Depp; her granddaughters, Loretta and husband, Kevin Pickel and Alisha and husband, Joshua Parr; her great-grandchildren, Tara Pickel, Alexis and Alaina Parr.



A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Faith United Methodist Church with Reverend Charlie Marus officiating.
