Mrs. Joan L. Day, 84, of Dallas, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing & Rehab.
Born in Binghamton, New York on June 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John McConnon and Alice Bailey McConnon. Mrs. Day was a member of Forest Lake Baptist Church in Forest Lake, Pennsylvania where she taught Sunday school. She was a very loving and caring person, a Cub Scout Den Mother and was an excellent ice skater. She retired from IBM as a Systems Analyst. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Delbert George Day; a daughter, Sharon Day and siblings, Diane Hood and Jack McConnon.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Dunn (Kenny Zail) of Dallas, Georgia; her son, Gary Day of Montose, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sisters, Patsy Girton of Greene, New York and Lucille Buchler of Owego, New York.
A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, January 8, 2016 in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Mr. Jeremy Dunn officiating.
