Joan Evans

Joan Elaine Edmondson Evans, 69, of Cartersville passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born on February 11, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ira Edmondson and Evelyn Mae Chastain. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Alfred Evans, and her brother Rodney Edmondson.

Joan enjoyed bird watching, crocheting and writing poetry. She never met a stranger, loved and helped everyone.

Survivors include her daughters Krista Henley (William), Ina Evans; her grandchildren, Shelby Kay Henley, Lane Evan Keeton; her brother Ronnie Edmondson (Jan); her sisters, Pamela Edmondson Southerland (Michael), Brenda Edmondson Spradley; her sister-in-law Carolina Lane; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Chaplain Don Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26 at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be William (Billy) Henley, Stacy Hendrix, Spencer Hendrix, Hunter Aspenwall, Neil Payne, and Brandon Wood.
