Joan C. Lutz of Cartersville, GA died on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 6:10 p.m. in Austell, GA after a brave battle with cancer. She was 76.
Joan was born on April 15, 1947, to Michael and Thelma (Sisk) Delost in Canton, IL. She and husband John lived in Joliet, IL for many years before moving to Georgia in 2016.
In addition to her parents Joan is preceded in death by her sister, Judith (Standard) Taff. Survivors include husband John; daughter Amy; sister Jane (Chuck) Day; brothers Michael (Debi) Delost and Mark (Lynn) Delost; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. An interior designer by trade, she owned her own business for many years. She loved gardening, cooking fine meals, and entertaining in her home. Joan loved animals and rescued many strays and shelter pets throughout her life. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Cartersville, GA.Joan was a kind and caring soul, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She was strong, determined and brave, and she handled everything in her life with grace and poise.
A service will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 10 a.m. There will be a procession from Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, GA beginning promptly at 9 am. A celebration of her life will be held at her residence in Cartersville immediately following the service.
