Mrs. Joan Tilley West, 80, of Taylorsville, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome.
Born February 23, 1933 in Cartersville, she was a daughter of the late Roy Tilley and the late Lelia Robertson Tilley. Mrs. West was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raiford Tilley; and a sister, Betty Edwards.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Robert E. West; children, Mary Ann Jenkins and her husband Marshall, Earl West and his wife Donna, and Judy Powell and her husband Melvin, all of Taylorsville; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Danny Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Eric West, Tyler Vanhook, Kim Jenkins, Chris Jenkins, Corey Thacker, and Jackson Young.
