Jody Sue Freeman, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30th, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on June 30th, 1948, in Alabama, Jody spent her later years residing in Cartersville, GA, where she crafted a life filled with love, commitment, and devotion to her family.
Jody is survived by her three cherished daughters: KJ Albritton and her husband Robert, Yvonne Mullis and her husband Jonathan, and Shonna Hagin. Her legacy also includes her adored grandchildren: Meghan Albritton, Ashlan Albritton, James Hagin, and Jackson Hagin, along with her precious great-grandchild Smith Albritton; and her siblings Patsy Ingram, Randy Cantrell with his wife Penny, and Terry Cantrell with his wife Marylyn. Jody's love and dedication to her family were profound, and she will always be remembered for the warmth and wisdom she imparted to each generation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Cantrell and Inez Smith Cantrell, along with several siblings who she held dear. Jody’s legacy is characterized by her unwavering love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson, who were the light of her life.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jody's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. Following the service, Jody will be laid to rest at Floyd Memory Gardens. Family and friends are invited to visit and pay their respects on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
