Mr. Joe A. Findley, age 80, of Cordle, GA, died Monday, March 5, 2007, in Cordle.
Mr. Findley was born in Meriweather County, GA, on December 15, 1926, the son of the late Steven D. and Annie Fulgham Findley. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. Prior to retirement in 1990, Mr. Findley was a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Redmon Findley, on July 6, 1993, to whom he was married on September 6, 1968. Two brothers, John Findley and Charlie Findley, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Findley is survived by four sisters, Elizabeth Fuller of Saint Augustine, FL, Christine Camp, Betty Fabel of Saint Augustine and Louise Burk of Stone Mountain, GA; two brothers, Davis Findley of Woodbury, GA and Roy Findley of Rockmart, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Findley will be held this (Wednesday) afternoon at 1 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. and include Sonny Owenby, Joe Gray, David Findley, Todd Thomason, Michael Hornbuckle and Scott Baxter.
