Joel Perkins, 67, of Cartersville died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at his residence. A native of Bartow County, he was born October 1, 1942 and was the son of the late Charles Perkins and Gladys Stancel Perkins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joel T. Perkins; his brother, William Ricky Perkins; and an infant brother.
Mr. Perkins retired from the Public Works Department of the City of Emerson. He enjoyed eating, drinking coffee, and smoking.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Jaclyn Perkins, Richard and Victoria Perkins, and Timothy W. Perkins, all of Cartersville; his siblings and their spouses, Charles Perkins and Robert and Susie Perkins, all of Cartersville, and Jane and Larry Gatrell of Lilburn; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Acworth.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
