John Brannon

Mr. John Douglas Brannon age 66, of Rome, GA, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in a Rome hospital.



Mr. Brannon was born in Birmingham, AL on October 8, 1943, the son of the late John Dee Brannon and Josie Lee Embree Brannon. He served in the United States Air Force and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of L.D.S. Mr. Brannon loved his children and grandchildren. Prior to becoming disabled he was a truck driver and worked for Armstrong Glass Company.



Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Rebecca and Kyle Washington of Pleasant Grove, AL and Alicia Pinkard of Rome, GA; three grandchildren, Kristen Brannon of Rome, GA, Nicole Pinkard of Rome, GA, and Riley Crone of Rome, GA; a great-granddaughter, Mary-Jane Hughes of Rome, GA; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Joe Bill and Sue Brannon of Statesboro, GA and Steve Brannon of Sylacauga, AL; six sisters and a brother-in-law, Fredericka Hill of Attalla, AL, Connie Justice of Birmingham, AL, Dorothy Jean Garner of Sylacauga, AL, Barbara and Robert McMahon of Sylacauga, AL, Theresa Rowell of Sylacauga, AL, and Sharon Russell of Attalla, AL; and a step-sister, Virginia Brannon of OK. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



A private service will be held at a later date.



The Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for the funeral of Mr. John Douglas Brannon.
