John Jenkins

John T. Jenkins, 89, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at his residence. Born July 16, 1920 in Canton, he was the son of the late Alford Calhoun Jenkins and the late Mary Knight. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Louise Jenkins.



John had served his country in the United States Army during WW II and was employed as a construction worker. He was known for his love of cooking and the loving care that he gave to all of his grandchildren.



Survivors include his daughter, Katie Jenkins; his sons, Ricky Jenkins, Lloyd Jenkins, Phillip Jenkins, and Gerald Jenkins; his sister, Lucille Martin; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Georgia National Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m., Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
