John Kay

September 13, 1935 — January 21, 2009

John W. Kay, age 73, of White died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at his residence. Born in Bartow County on Sept. 13, 1935, he was the son of the late John W. Kay and Delania Idell Simpson Kay. Mr. Kay was a member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, gardening and tinkering with machinery. Preceding him in death are his parents, two brothers, Carlton and Dillard Kay, one sister, Virginia Sinclair and a sister-in-law, Margie Kay.



Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Alton and Brenda Kay of White; his sister and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Jimmy Rutledge of White, and Elmer �Buddy� Sinclair of White; his nieces and nephews, Joel Kay and Lori Knight, Darlene and David Johnson, Vickie and Michael Elrod, Johnathan and Christopher Rutledge; great nieces and nephews, Micah and Bryson Elrod, Christopher, Jordan and Jessica Pickens and Wheeler Robbins Knight.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at Rowland Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Ringwalt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



Pallbearers are asked to meet at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and will include: Kirk Ledford, Ralph Cox, Randy Brock, Kevin Tomlin, Jimmy Crane and Chuck Maulden.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 -9 p.m.
