John Tankard �Johnny� Roberts, 63, of Cartersville died Friday, July 24, 2009 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born September 20, 1945 in Glen Cove, New York he was the son of the late Stephen Tankard Roberts and the late Helene Smith Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Walter �Pete� Roberts.
Johnny was employed as a sales manager for AT&T until his retirement and had served his country in the United States Army; he was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Johnny was an avid collector of rock and roll memorabilia he loved martial arts and animals.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Ellis-Roberts of Cartersville; his daughter, Heather Lynn Roberts of Salt Lake City, Utah; his son, John Charles Roberts of Seattle, Washington; and his twin brother, Charles Stephen Roberts of Oceanside, California.
Funeral services will be graveside at 1:00 p.m. Monday July 27, 2009 at Sunset Memory Gardens with Bishop John Bobo, Pastor Danny Woodruff, and Reverend Robert Allen officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville GA 30120.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Scott Daniel and the staff of Cartersville Medical Center for all that they have done for Johnny and his family. In lieu of flowers those desiring to make contributions can do so to the American Diabetes Association or to the Guillain Barre Association.
