John Shinall

May 28, 1934 — January 5, 2010

John Harvey Shinall, 75, of Rydal passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Bartow County, he was born May 28, 1934 and was the son of the late Leonard John Shinall and the late Josie Lusk Shinall. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tom Lusk.



Mr. Shinall was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed gardening and working on his tractors and equipment.



Mr. Shinall was a machinist and retired from Goodyear after forty-six years. He was also a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.



Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Barbara Stinnette Shinall; his children, Cheryl Shinall of Kennesaw, John Shinall Jr. of Rydal, and Steven Shinall and his wife, Kandi, of Cartersville; his granddaughters, Julie Shinall and Monica Shinall; and his special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Julian and Betty Fender.



Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Keith Willard officiating. Burial will follow in the Vaughan Cemetery in White.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 8 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
