Johnnie Grier

Mrs. Johnnie Byrd Grier, 72, of Cartersville passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at University Hospital in Augusta. Born July 15, 1936 in Bartow County, she was the daughter of the late Ida Atkison. She was preceded in death by her mother; her step-father, Ben Range; her husband, Gene Grier; her children, Diane Byrd and Marvin Byrd; her brothers and sisters, Josie Williams, Franc Walker, Earnest Atkison, Ruby T, Leones Atkison, and Lee England; and her nieces and nephew, Pam Walker, Francis Byrd and Billy Williams.



Survivors include her grandson, Marshal Byrd; her granddaughter, Marlene Byrd; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Billy Mundy officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Williams, Danny Williams, Brian Jimenez, Clifford Blackmon, Harry Craig, and Jerry Williams.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
