John Everett �Pig� Chastain, 37, of Rydal passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 after an extended battle with juvenile diabetes. Born July 24, 1972 in Rome, he was the son of Dorothy Huskins Emerson and John William Chastain. Johnny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Naomi Huskins, Everett Chastain, and Alice and Hubert Barron; his uncle, Bud Huskins; and his aunt, Sue Wehunt.
Survivors include his children, Christy Chastain, Cody Chastain, Brittney Chastain, Dakota Chastain, Tristan Lancaster, and Brianna Overby; his mother and step-father, Dorothy and Robert Emerson of Rydal; his father, John Chastain of Adairsville; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Dana and Steve McClung of Mary Esther, Florida and LuAnne and Todd Holcomb of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida, Misty and Martin Jonathan of Cartersville, Wendy Hartley of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Stephanie Emerson of Salt Lake City, Utah; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kyle Childers of Rydal, Jason and Tonya Chastain of White, Randy Emerson of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Brian Emerson of Salt Lake City, Utah; his aunts and uncles, Kathy and Vernon Vaughn of Huntsville, Texas, Mary Anne and Lenis Coker of Cartersville, Nancy and Dale Van Dyken of Kennesaw, Bobby and Barbara Huskins of Dawsonville, Jerry and Betty Jean Huskins of White, Larry and Lynn Huskins of White, and Helen Huskins of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Dennis Huskins and Rev. Lamar Guyton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Log Methodist Cemetery.
