Johnny Crockford

February 22, 1945 — November 12, 2010

Mr. Johnny D. Crockford, 65, of Cartersville passed away, Friday, November 12, 2010 at his residence after complications of a stroke. Born in Newport, Rhode Island on February 22, 1945, he was the son of the late Joe Crockford and the late Betty Wright Crockford. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Woody Anderson; his sister Nancy Neves; and his dear and special friends, Harold �Cricket� Grogan, and Joe �Cat� Turner.



Johnny was a member of Circle L. Ministries in Taylorsville where he enthusiastically attended regularly. He was a builder and contractor, a seventeen year cancer survivor and participated in the annual relay for life celebrations, he also loved to help with the food pantry. An avid softball player, he was a coach and sponsor of Five Star Construction Men�s softball team and the Trouble Women�s softball team. He enjoyed spending time with his teammates and friends.



Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Patricia McGill Crockford; his daughters and son-in-law, Stormie Watkins, and Dede and Dewayne Sutton of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Chance Beck, Laura Sutton, Deion Watkins, Morgan Watkins, and Deionna Watkins; his brother, Tommy Crockford of Newport, Rhode Island; and his brother and sister-in-law, Bet and Don Nally, Ernest and Dorothy McGill, and Charles McGill; a special niece and caregiver, Darlene Henson; his adoptive family, Roy and Jimmy Walker; and a dear and special sister-in-law, Darlene Bagley.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Tony Lyle and the Rev. Roger Luke officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.



Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Morris, Charles McGill, Chuck McGill, Danny Snow, Todd Payne, Tim Henson, Doug Vernon, and Westley Vernon. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Sunday.



The family received friends from 6 � 9 p.m. on Saturday, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Carterville, GA 30120.
