Jon Young, Sr.

Mr. Jon Kevin Young, Sr., 42, of Cartersville, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at his residence. Born in Bartow County, February 10, 1969, he was the son of Joyce Blalock Young Freeman and Jimmy Young. He is predeceased by one brother, James Young, Jr.; his grandparents, Paul Blalock, Mary Whitley, Marvin Young and Lillian Young; and a niece Emily Young.

Jon loved his children and his family. He enjoyed chicken fighting, classic rock, fishing, hot rods and dirt track racing.



Survivors include his mother and step-father, Joyce and Roger Freeman; his father and step-mother, Jimmy and Helen Young; his children, Jon Kevin Young, Jr., Brittany Nicole Dickerson, Kimberly Lynne Young, James Michael Paul Young, and Weldon Robert Anderson Young; two grandchildren, Hali Sierra Dickerson, Ronald Hunter Grant Dickerson; the mother of his children, Angela Fowler; his sisters, Kim Mathison and Angela Young; a brother Joseph Young; and several nieces and nephews.



A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
