Jonas Scruggs

Mr. Jonas Dillard Scruggs, Jr., 73, of Cartersville, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Rome.
Born March 24, 1939 in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late Jonas Dillard Scruggs, Sr. and the late Nancy Flossie Reed Scruggs. Mr. Scruggs served our Country as a member of the United States Air Force and was a self-employed brick mason. He was a devoted husband and father and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Scruggs; and son, Franklin Eugene Stephens.
Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly A. Scruggs of Cartersville; son, Larry Otis Scruggs, also of Cartersville; daughter-in-law, Tina M. Scruggs of Cartersville; and a grandson, Dwayne Stephens.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Old Macedonia Cemetery.
