Jose Francisco Molina, 82, a recent resident of Emerson of 3 years, passed away on November 4, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Molina was a previous resident of Jacksonville, FL for over 35 years.
Born on December 27, 1938, in Caibarien, Cuba he was the son of the late Francisco Molina de la Cruz and the late Josefa Morion Rojo. Mr. Molina came to the United States in 1961 and resided in Ashville, NC while attending Warren Wilson College. He later moved to the mid-west where, in 1965, he was able to bring his wife Maelia from Cuba to the USA. He proudly became a citizen of the United States of America in 1970. Mr. Molina worked with Commonwealth Edison Company, the Federal Goverment and the Veterans Administration as a power plant operator. He retired in 2004 and has taken the time since to spend with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Maelia Rivet Molina; his children, Dwayne Molina (Amanda), Steve Molina (Tabitha), Melissa Hoenigmann (Eric), and Maelia Stamey (Johnny); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Heather (James), Jacob, Christopher (Katelyn), Blake (Paige), Mitchell (Hannah), Amber (Brandon), Austin, Alec, Peyton, and Addison; his great-grandchildren, Zoey, Logan, Tatum, Colleen, Elizabeth, Brinley, Mack, Casey, Blakely, and Bjorn; and his sisters Miriam, Aida, Margot, and Esther.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Sunset Memory Gardens with Reverend Keith Willard officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons: Blake, Mitchell, Austin, Jacob, Alec, Brandon, and Ivan.
