Mr. Joseph Lynn Kitchens, 53, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Born December 1, 1958 in Panama City, Florida, he was a son of the late U. L. Franks and Mary Lou Railey Franks. Mr. Kitchens proudly served our country as a veteran of the United State Navy and was employed with Lockheed-Martin. He was of the Christian faith and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon "Shag" Kitchens of Cartersville; his mother, Mary Franks of Dallas; sons, Joshua Kitchens and his wife Regina of Kingston, Caleb Kitchens and Corey Kitchens, both of Cartersville; 3 grandsons, Drake, Tanner, and Kale; brothers, Tony Kitchens and his wife Miriam of Rockmart, and Tim Franks of Cartersville; sister, Iva Franks of Cleveland, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Rocky Abernathy officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests that those who wish may make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Mr. Kitchens.
