Joseph Mcleod

Joseph E. McLeod, age 58, passed away peacefully on November, 26, 2020. He was born on December 15, 1961 in Bradenton, FL.

Joe was a retired lineman. He had a lifelong love of plants and was an avid gardener with a generous and loving heart. His enthusiasm for his hobby was inspiring to everyone who knew him. A conversation about plants with him was often a long story. He always sent family and friends home with plants, seeds or cuttings, along with advice on how to plant and care for them. Joe's love of family was the core of his being. He loved his children, stepchildren and extended family and life-long friends. His strong arms and bear hugs were unforgettable.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife Gena Lee Franklin McLeod, mother Delores Inez McLeod, and father Joseph Louie McLeod, a sister Donna Carole McLeod Osborne.

He is survived by his fiancé Phyllis James, three sons, Chris McLeod (Ashley), Josh McLeod (Stephanie), Chase McLeod (Karley), and his precious grandchildren, Ella and Emery McLeod, along with the loving mother of his children Laurie McLeod. Stepchildren, Jeremy Bolen and Chase Locke; daughters, Rita Sapp and Jessica Griffith and 11 step grandchildren. His sisters and brothers, Wanda Burch (Sam) of Monticello, FL, Debra White (Les) of Commerce, GA, Jerald McLeod (Lorrie) of Hampton, GA, Jesse McLeod of Hampton, GA, several aunts uncles, nieces and nephews.

A service to honor Mr. McLeod will be held on December 4, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, Cartersville, GA, with visitation from 4-6 pm and the service at 6 pm.
