Joseph Simpson

July 11, 1921 — April 21, 2012

Joseph �Joe� Albert Simpson, 90, of Cartersville passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his residence. Born July 11, 1921 in Bartow County he was the son of the late Herschel Sylvester Simpson and the late Eunice Brown Simpson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Melissa White; and his siblings, Edna Chitwood, Boyd Simpson, Bill Simpson, and Irene Black.



Joseph was employed by Goodyear Mills as a machine operator and was the owner of Simpson Lawn Mower Shop in Oakland Heights. He was last employed as a greeter in the garden department at Wal-Mart which he loved. Joseph was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church in Adairsville.



Survivors include his daughter, Hazel Brooks of Kingston; his sons, Herschel Simpson and Gerald Simpson both of Cartersville; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Boyd (Bernice) Simpson; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Martin Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120
