Joseph Stout

April 27, 1939 — November 11, 2008

Mr. Joseph H. Stout, 69, of Euharlee passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 27, 1939 in Mountain City, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Raymond E. Stout and the late Nell Rae Davis Stout. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jim Stout and Ken Stout.



Joe was a retired civil servant employed as an aircraft mechanic at Dobbins Air Force Base. He was also retired from the Air Force Reserve and had served ten years active duty in the United States Air Force. Joe had been active with the Smyrna Athletic Association serving as a coach and officer. He also helped his son David begin the 6th Grade football team at South Central Middle School. Joe was also a faithful, active member of Taylorsville Baptist Church.



Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary Stout of Euharlee; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Melanie Stout of Euharlee; his granddaughter, Kristi Stout of Euharlee; his great-granddaughter, Emma Skelton; his sister, Sue Baird of Mountain City, Tennessee; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Stout of Boone, North Carolina and Wanda Morefield of Mountain City, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at Taylorsville Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Harris officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.



Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Banister, Brian Banister, Johnny Potter, Andy Potter, Brian Simmons, and Bob Brown. The family requests the men of Joe�s Sunday school class serve as honorary pallbearers.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 8 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
