Josephine Shinall

Josephine "Jo" Sanders Shinall, 65, of Cartersville passed away Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Sunbridge of Cartersville. Born October 5, 1942 in Bartow County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Battles Chappell and the late Jessie Maxwell Chappell. Jo had been a tufting machine operator for most of her life. Her family and friends remember Jo as the life of any gathering. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Tammy Toole; her sister, Sandra Chappell; her brothers, Jesse Lee Chappell and Ray Chappell; and her husbands, Charlie Sanders and Lloyd Shinall.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Sanders of Rome and Robbin Sanders of Euharlee; her sons, Ray Sanders of Euharlee and Jim Sanders of Abbeville; her brothers and sisters, Ronald Chappell of Taylorsville, Sarah Cain of Lindale, Frances Edwards of Cartersville, Wilburn Chappell of Taylorsville, Ralph Chappell of Cartersville, Jane Carter of Silver Creek, Brenda Copeland of Cartersville, and Sharon Morron of Cartersville; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Chappell, Stephen Blalock, Jimmy Chappell, Thomas Ballard, Billy Sanders, and Casey Sanders.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 9 p.m. Saturday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
